안녕하세요! This is the Sentence Building Drill (문장 만들기 연습) lesson! In this series, we will look at how you can expand your Korean sentence building skills by adding or replacing certain words in given sentences. All the “key” sentences that are used in these lessons are composed of grammar points that have previously been introduced through our lessons. This series will be a good opportunity for you to review what you have learned in the past and also to learn some new vocabulary! Have fun studying!
안녕하세요! Welcome to Lesson 9 in Level 7 of TalkToMeInKorean! In this lesson, we will be going over the verb ending -느라고. This ending is used two verbs or actions as a reason for a result, but is specifically used when the result is somewhat negative. For example, if you were to translate the sentence “I was working out so I didn’t know you called” into Korean, you would use -느라고 in the sentence. Study this lesson to learn how to use -느라고!
Learn how to use the verb ending -길래 to form sentences like “I saw that you like chocolate, so I bought some for you.” in Korean. -길래 is similar to -아/어/여서 and -(으)니까, but is more commonly used when you want to express your decision to do something based on your observation of a state or situation.
Through this lesson, you will learn to use the structure 아/어/여 봤자 to say things like “Even if you stay here, it’s a waste of time” and “there’s no use in talking to me.” This structure is actually quite useful and can be used in a couple different ways, so be sure to study this lesson well and practice making your own sentences with this structure by writing some in the comment section below!
안녕하세요! In the Word Builder lessons, we introduce letters and words that work as building blocks of the Korean vocabulary. They are not necessarily all Hanja words based on Chinese characters, but many of them are. In this World Builder lesson, we will be looking at how 원 (院) is used in Korean vocabulary.
