Welcome to the 20th episode of “How Do You Say This in Korean?”! In this series, teacher 경화 (Kyung-hwa) is joined by a co-host of her choice twice a month to answer some listener questions. The questions we will be answering in this series are mainly about how to say certain things in Korean.


How do you say “I’m from South Africa. Where are you from?” in Korean?
= 저는 남아공에서 왔어요. 어느 나라에서 왔어요? [jeo-neun na-ma-gong-e-seo wa-sseo-yo. eo-neu na-ra-e-seo wa-sseo-yo?]

How do you say “Please enjoy your meal.”in Korean?
= 맛있게 드세요. [ma-si-kke deu-se-yo.]

How do you say “Public holidays” in Korean?
= 공휴일 [gong-hyu-il]

How do you say “We’re going to California!” in Korean?
= 우리/저희 캘리포니아 갈 거예요! [u-ri/jeo-hui kael-li-po-ni-a gal geo-ye-yo!]

How do you say “I might be going to Seoul for spring break!” in Korean?
= 저 봄 방학 때 서울 갈지도 몰라요. [jeo bom bang-hak ttae seo-ul gal-ji-do mol-la-yo.]
