Level 6 Lesson 25 / Easy/difficult to + V / -기 쉽다/어렵다

 Have you ever found yourself wanting to express the ease of difficulty of doing something in Korean? Perhaps you’ve gotten a new high-tech Korean cellphone and want to say, “this is difficult to use!”, or you are super-tech savvy and want to show off by exclaiming “This is easy!” In this lesson, 현우 and 경은 will help you learn what sentence structure to use when you want to say something like this!

    이따금에 ‘쉽다’하고 ‘어렵다’ 사용했는데 particles을 무시했어요.

    1. 한국어를 배우기가 어려워잖아요.

    It’s convenient to take a taxi in Vietnam

    베트남에서 택시를 타기가 편리해요

    외국어를 공부하기 쉽은 것 같은데 외국어로 말하기 어려워요.

    I don’t understand why have to put the “ga” subject marker. What does it mean?
    이건 만들기(가) 어려워요.

    Without “ga” it means the same thing? Or not?

    • One way to look at it technically is that 어렵다 / 쉽다 are descriptive verbs. These verbs accept only subjects.
      Subject of 어려워요 is 만들기. The meaning is same without it as well, but 만들기가 어려워요 is how you write it fully.
      or 다가가기가 싫어요 (I don’t want to go close), 공부하기가 좋아요.

    • I think there’s little mistake… you said like “foreigners learning is easy for TTMIK”.
      should say
      외국인은 Talk To me In Korean에서 배우기 쉽고 편리해요.
      or Talk To me In Korean 외국인들이 배우기 쉽고 편리하게 해요.
      Well and there’s other ways.. like
      티티밐이라는 사이트를 방문하시는 외국인한테 배우기가 쉽고 편리하네요.

    – 요리하기가 어려워요

    6) It is difficult for me to cook
    – 제가 요리하기에 어려워요

    7) It’s convenient to stay at home
    – 집에 있기가 편리해요

    8) I know it’s difficult for you to stay here.
    – 여기에 당신이 있기에 불안한다고 알아요

    9) It’s good to see you like this.
    – 당신이 이렇게 보기가 좋아요

    10) It’s difficult to do shopping alone
    – 혼자 슈핑 하기가 어려워요

    11) It’s difficult for my mom to do shopping
    – 제 엄마가 쇼핑 하기에 어려워요

    1. 매일 ttmik으로 공부하면, 한국어를 배우기 정말 쉬워요.
    2. 경은 씨 이름은 발음하기 좀 어려운 것 같아요.
    3. 저는 언어를 배우기 너무 좋아서 한국어 배우고 있어요.

    반복은 배우는 것에 좋아요= repetition is good for learning.
    저는 어휘를 기억하기(가) 어렵는 것은 어떤 것 같아요= I think remembering vocabulary is difficult.
    녹차를 마시는 것이 겅강에 좋아요 = drinking green tea is good for your health.
    그것은 너에게 쉬워요 = it’s easy for you.
    이것은 설명하기(가) 어려워요= it’s difficult to understand.
    제 안경없이 보기(가) 어려워요 = without my glasses seeing is difficult. / I can’t see without my glasses.

    이건 외국인 이해하기(에) 좀 어려워 하지만 이 개념을 배우는 건 하기(가) 좋아요
    돈이 없으면 뭔가 사기 해도 안 돼요
