Hahaha. I love how Hyojin keeps reassuring herself to justify her judging other people.

    • Rob

      I loved that too.

But fyi Hyojin, we can use the word “waste” in all of those situations in English. 🙂

I still have troubles with the difference between:

    아쉽다 and 아깝다

    이 두 단어에 대해서 설명을 좀 해 주셨으면 좋겠습니다.^^

I was just about to post the same question!! ^^

아쉽다 is when something missing in your life. I guess similar to 그립다, but 그립다 stronger, like something you love is missing, while 아쉽다 just causing inconvenience.
And 아깝다, well, it’s explained in the video… when you regret something that you did.
      Like this I guess…
친구가 그립다 – friend is missing (I miss my friend)
현대적인 콤퓨터가 아쉽다 – modern computer is missing (I wish a modern computer/ I feel inconvenience without it).
이 콤퓨터를 산 게 아깝다 – that fact that I bought this computer is regrettable (I regret that I bought this computer)
ah 아깝다 originally is when something is valuable. So when you value something, you either miss it if something bad happened, or don’t want it happen.

    • Greg

Actually originally it’s probably just “to be close”, but things that are close are valuable, if you think this way.
In case of 여자가 아깝다 is just kinda “I feel bad for her (that she is with such a bad guy)”. You’re kinda regret that she’s “wasted”.

    it’s very nice.
