  • 석진 and 경은, I would like to personally say that you two have done a very nice job on the lesson!!

  • Julian

I plan to buy this when I’m way more fluent in korean, I totally want to learn some 사투리 ㅋㅋ
감사합니다 for all these awesome lessons, I don’t think there has been any other website dedicated to 사투리 out there! 🙂

I guess a good idea would be to also make lessons that focus on korean pronunciation, it could be course available in the TTMIK store, I’d totally buy it! I really want my “foreign accent” to not be so noticeable when speaking korean in the future, I’d love to sound as close as native as possible. 🙂

    • Julian 🙂 고마워 🙂

That’s a good lesson idea, in fact. We will create some lessons on pronunciation both in the regular lessons page and also for the store. Thank you for the suggestion 🙂

  • Wow our lesson is finally revealed here. Very nice.
현우 bro, you also did a great job in the lesson. I really appreciate you.

Most foreigners may think that it is weird to learn dialect language and may ask themselves the reason why they should learn it.

Well, right. Learing the dialect can be complicated than standard Korean and you can also live in Gyeongsang province even if you don’t know it. However, as you may know, language is a part of culture and the key of relationship.
When you try the dialect in the Gyeongsang province, the local guys will be more closer to you.

I hope you to just enjoy the lesson. I am not pushing you to remind all of them, so just feel the dialect. haha

Please don’t hesitate to ask me, whenever you have questions.

    Have a nice day~!

    • I’m kind of jealous of you because you have kept your own accent and I don’t even (although I understand it and speak some of it) speak my own hometown’s dialect any more XD

  • Wan

  • Hyunwoo bro, yes you’re right.
I kept speaking my own dialect intonation in purpose. You can also do that if you try.Hahaha.

    몸에 좋아요? ㅎㅎㅎ
    내 사투리가 배우고 싶데이~
    나쁜 남자 되고 싶데이…농담잉교.. 😛
    그 말 많이 들어요? ㅋㅋ

thanks for the great lesson 경은씨 and 석진씨!

i heard this accent in some movies. i think it is not widely used in drama. i think i prefer to listen to 표준어 which i think is more cute. haha. however, i think 경상도 사투리 is quite funny so when i chat in a group, i always use 환영합니데이~ ㅎㅎ

    i have one question.
    신촌동에 사람들 경상도 사투리를 써죠?

    • Tze Lim

신촌동에 사람들 경상도 사투리를 쓰세요? >.<

      ooppss another question:
      "써죠" 아니면 "쓰죠" 하세요?

    • Wow I am sure that you will be loved when you come to Gyeongsang province.
I recommend you to watch a movie called “친구”. 99% of the sayings are dialect.

써죠 is not correct. I would say 신촌동의 사람들은 경상도 사투리를 써요?

When you use 쓰죠, like this “신촌동의 사람들은 경상도 사투리를 쓰죠?”, it feels like you want to check if the people really use the dialect.

서울에는 여러 지방에서 온 사람들이 많기때문에, 사투리를 쓰는 사람을 쉽게 만날 수 있어요.

    • Tze Lim

      will I? I have a stone heart. >.<
it'll be nice to make good friends. although it wouldn't be as dramatic as the movie 친구, it would be fun. hehe.
친구 영화 봤어요. 좋은 영화예요. 🙂
it was a long time ago and at that time, i don't think i knew korean very much.
will watch it again when i've finished studying the dialect. hehe.
i will learn 표준어 first so that i don't confuse myself. it would be really weird if i speak in all kinds of dialects in one conversation. lol. i would use some dialects just to make it more interesting. haha.

thanks for correcting me. really appreciate it.
btw, my question is still unanswered ㅜ.ㅜ

      그래요. 알고 싶어요..
      한국에 다시 꼭 갈거예요.
      그땐 서울과 경상도 갈거예요. 🙂
아.. 제주도 가고 싶어요. 사투리는 배워야할까요? ㅋㅋ

    • 보통 신촌동에 사는 사람들은 경상도 사투리 안 써요.
Generally, the people in Sinchondong don’t use Gyeongsangdo dialect.

하지만, 경상도에서 신촌동으로 이사한 사람들은 쓸 수 있어요.
However, the people who moved to Sinchondong from Gyeongsand province can use the dialect.

    • Tze Lim

      아.. 그래요?
      대답해줘서 고마워요.
제 생각엔 사투리를 가끔 쓰면 재밌어요.
i also appreciate that you translated your sentences into english although i could understand them without the translation. hehe

      고맙십니데이~ 🙂

  • James 준석

이 레슨 **강추야 강추~ I highly recommend this lesson!
밥문나? 식사하셨능교? 이 사투리 배우면 한국친구와 함께 재밌게 얘기할 수 있겠어요!
You can have fun speaking with your friends if you learn this dialect!
    경은누나 ~ 석진형~ 고생많이하고 수고 많이 하셨어요~

    ^_^ 다음 레슨을 기대합니담~

** 강추이라는 단어가 줄임말이에요 = 강력추천 … 강추 is a shortened form of 강력추천 which means to strongly recommend ~

    • Haha James, thanks for your recommendation.
재밌게 들어줘서 고맙고, 다음에 만날때 경상도 사투리로 인사하자. ㅋㅋ

      제임스, 밥문나?

  • Bransen Luna

Hello~~ i tried to buy this program but it said that i needed to use another credit card. I’m currently in Korea, but I used an American credit card. I’m not sure if this is the reason why it didn’t work, and also I wanted to know if anyone knows how I can fix this problem and buy this. Thank you.

  • 기범

    hihi ~ 😀
    thz alot …….

  • ^^ 고맙심니데이.

  • I actually dated a girl from 부산, and learned quite a bit of 사투리, so I am eager to buy this, but there’s no working link to some sample audio. Was this recorded at a natural speed or at a speed sympathetic to foreigners? I’m hoping to find naturally recorded Korean, like in 영일’s book. Could someone give me a quick review of this audiobook?

    • Concerning the speed, I and Kyeongeun talked in a little slow speed, yeah sympathetic to foreigners.
I think the speed is similar to Iyagi series.

  • Dita

I want to buy the lesson but then when i click the “make purchase” button it didnt went through to paypal instead i have an error message.

“SetExpressCheckout API call failed. Detailed Error Message: Account is restrictedShort Error Message: Restricted accountError Code: 10002Error Severity Code: Error”

  • Paul

Hey guys! Just wanna say that you’re amazing! I listen to you in the morning in my car with the ipod plugged in haha.

Why don’t you have this explained in english though? I REALLY want to learn this dialect because I absolutely loved 부산!! I do consider in living there too! Only thing is..for this lesson I don’t understand most of it and I bought it haha

    • Thank you so much for the feedback. We will definitely work on this in English in the future ^_^

  • Perizat Atkhaeva
