Listen in as Kyeong-eun, Seokjin, and Hyojin chat about parks in Korea while having a nice picnic at Seonyudo Park! You don’t have to watch the whole video in one sitting. Feel free to watch parts of it whenever you feel like it, or watch certain parts again so you may understand them better. Thank you so much for studying with us!

Special thanks to Kerri ( http://youtube.com/expatkerri ) for the intro!

  • Today I am the first one!!! ^^

    선생님들, 재미있는 비디오를 만들어주셔서 감사합니다!
    이렇게 친구들이랑 공원에서 모아서 함께 수다 떨으면 진짜 좋은 것 같아요. ( I want to say ” It seems very good to go park with friends and chat together.If there is any mistake in my korean sentence, teachers pls correct me. Thank you very much! )

    즐거운 하루 보내세요. ^^

    • 케디 씨! ^^

      오랜만 우리 같이 안 코멘투해요. ㅎㅎ

      근데 전 질문 있어요;

      모아다 = ?
      수다 = ?
      떨다 = ?

      모두는 무슨 뜻이죠? 🙂

    • 모아다 = ? > 모이다 to be gathered

      수다 = chatter

      떨다 = literally it means “to shake”, but when this verb comes after 수다, like 수다 떨다, the meaning become “to chat”.

    • good job, Caddie^^ As always!
      To be natural for your sentence, I’ll correct them slightly^^
      May I?^^
      이렇게 친구들이랑 공원에서 모아서 함께 수다 떨으면 진짜 좋은 것 같아요.
      => 이렇게 친구들이랑 공원에(서) 모여서 함께 수다를 떨면 재미있어요.
      => 이렇게 친구들이랑 공원에(서) 모여서 함께 수다를 떠는 게 진짜 좋은 것 같아요.

      Either is fine^^ I’d say first one!

    I like how there are both english and korean subtitles. It makes it a lot easier to break down the sentences. Question..would it be considered impolite if the waiter brings out the food and I say something like 와! 맛있겠다!? If so, is there any way to change it to where it is not considered impolite?

    many thanks

    • Chris 씨 감사합니다^^ Saying “와, 맛있겠다! when you are served food is never impolite way to say.

      You know what that expression means,don’t you?
      “Hm~ Yummy! or Looks delicious!” so that could be a kind of compliments.
      But the nuiance of “와! 맛있겠다” can be told to yrself.
      The waiter/tress don’t have to answer that.
      So as a native speaker Korean I don’t think that’s impolite^^

      Thnx for asking and reading my comment 🙂

    This was a really fun & amusing lesson/practice. It’s really interesting to hear about
    석진씨 and his experiences and impressions before and after moving to Seoul.
    I really like listening to theses segments, because the freestyle, laid back conversations seem to be very conducive to picking up a natural way of speaking.
    Awesome Job guys =)

    이 비디오가 너무 재미있어요! 3주 전에 서울에 왔는데 오늘 Language Cast 미팅에 갈거예요. After watching so many of your videos (the ones with the Korean / English subtitles are the best!) I look forward to meeting you in Seoul 😀
