VAT fees for the EU countries

If you would like to order books from one of the EU countries, please make sure you check the following information before you complete your purchase. 

As of July 1, 2021, the VAT(value-added tax) exemption for orders of €22 or less has been removed due to the new VAT rules for EU customers. Consequently, if you place an order, VAT fees can be imposed by the customs in your country regardless of the price of your order.

Please note that you may have to pay an extra customs fee (a ‘surcharge’) on top of the VAT, if it is required by your customs office. We can’t know in advance exactly how much the surcharge will be for each customer, but here are some records of our other customers and the fees they were previously charged. 

Since all the customs fees vary with each country and the circumstances, some customers were not charged a customs fee even when others had to pay a fee with an order that costs the same amount. Therefore this information won’t necessarily be applied to everyone in the same way.
