About this course
The Korean language has several politeness and formality levels, but they can be mainly divided into two levels - ์กด๋๋ง(formal/polite language) and ๋ฐ๋ง(casual language). As a learner, you start out by learning the formal version first through courses and books. And as you make more and more Korean friends, you will feel the need to start using casual language in certain situations. ๋ฐ๋ง is a lot of fun to use especially with your close friends, but you also need to be careful not to use it incorrectly or with the wrong person.
This 13-part course will teach all the rules of the casual language of Korean and how to turn your formal sentences into natural casual forms. After taking this course, you will be able to not only understand but also start using ๋ฐ๋ง!

This course is really good, and it actually help me a lot to understand some content I watch where people talk casually , but I was wondering if your name ends with “ya” your friends won’t add ์ผ at the end of it ?
Like my name is Freya, in this case will people be using the nickname and add ์ผ or ์, or they would still add ์ผ after a name ending with ์ผ/ya ?
Thank you for taking this course. You would still be called with ์ผ added at the end of your name like “Freya์ผ!”๐

does adding ์ or ์ผ on names work for all names even non-korean?
It depends on the person and it’s up to you, really : )
With non-Korean names, people often just omit -์/์ผ even when they are speaking in Korean ๋ฐ๋ง, but some people do add -์/์ผ, like ์ ์์ค์ผ, ํ ๋ง์ค์ผ, etc.
Thanks everyone for checking out this course and studying with it! Let me write in ๋ฐ๋ง here : )
