Reviews

  1. Smoses,

When it was revealed in the last lesson that -께서 is the formal form of -이/가 which we learned in the first lesson it felt like a plot twist.😄

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

      한국어 공부 파이팅!! 😆

  2. Catherine Lam,

It took me some time to complete this course, but I didn’t regret making sure that I cover all ten lessons! The particles covered in this course are crucial in ensuring basic understanding and application of the commonly used particles in 한글. Thank you TTMIK for the incredibly simplified version of teaching the particles and I’ve greatly enjoyed this course!

  4. Maria,

This course was very helpful to review the more commonly used particles all in one place. I now feel better prepared to follow the easy reading for beginners course next. I recommend this course as the next step after you complete levels 1-3 as most of these will have been covered in those sections.

  6. L,

Thanks for a great course. What I didn’t really understand is the point which states that you can use (이)랑 하고 after every noun, while 와/과 cant. Could someone kindly elaborate on that?

  7. Columba,

I have a few questions after going through this course.
    1) If If 와/과 doesn’t sound natural after every noun what about these sentences which were used?
    아침으로 바나나와 계란과 샐러드를 먹어요
저는 서울과 제주도와 부산에 가고 싶어요

    2) On that same note does (이)랑 have to be used after every noun to sound natural or is it optional?

    3) If -마저 is a particle why is there a space in 남은 콩 마저 먹어요?

    4) When comparing-에게 and -한테 both verb 드리다 and 주다 were used and translated as to give. What is the difference?
    Thank you!

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

      1) Both sentences are perfectly natural, but people tend to use -(이)랑 more often in spoken language and casual settings.
      2) The use of -(이)랑 is optional, but in formal settings, -와/과 would be more preferred.
      3) The space in “남은 콩 마저 먹어요” is necessary because 마저 in this sentence is an adverb meaning “all of it without anything left.”
      4) 드리다 is an honorific form of 주다.

Thank you for taking this course!😊

  8. Ian Thirlwell,

Can you explain the reason for the answer to lesson 2 question 2? The English translation of the sentence as “Where did you bring this?” is at the least ambiguous. It could imply from or to.

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

We’ve added “from” at the end of the sentence to make it clearer! Thank you for pointing out!😊

  9. Regina KN,

I was struggling a lot with 에게 and 한테 but finally I understood everything, I honestly feel relieved ㅎㅎ
Thank you so much 예지 선생님!!

    • Yeji Kim,

Yay!!!🙌🙌🙌 The credit goes to YOU who have studied diligently to understand it. Great job❣️
Come back to this course whenever you get confused, Regina! 감사합니다🥰

  10. DebiT,

I still struggle with -은/는 vs. -이/가 so this was very helpful, thank you. I learned new useful things in every lesson. I do wish there was a PDF handout to go along with the course, though.

    • CA,

      Agree

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

      Thank you for your feedback!😊

  11. KrizP,

I have been studying Korean for about a year, I spent the first 6-8 months studying the alphabet to make sure my sounds and reading was perfect (or as perfect as I could get it). After learning how to read, the next step is to finally be able to speak, when I first started getting into the particles I never understood why they were needed and or how to use them. I have spent countless hours trying to figure it out to make it sense in my heard. With this course I was finally able to understand how particles are used in the Korean language. Thank you so much for making this course.

    • Yeji Kim,

I’m tearing up…😭 I’m soooo happy that this course helped your understanding of Korean particles! Thank you for your comment💜

  12. Loretta,

예지 선생님 감사합니다. This course is very useful, and you’ve made it really interesting and easy to understand. I like your concluding remarks a lot … all these particles come together in a very natural way; its the perfect example on how we can use them in our daily conversations 🙂 Thanks TTMIK team for creating these contents!

    • Yeji Kim,

너무 감사해요 Loretta 씨!🥰 Thank you for taking this course and leaving such a sweet comment!

  14. Didi,

This course was so helpful in clarifying much of my confusion of these particles. The lessons were short but packed with good information and examples. Wonderful work, thank you!

  16. Shannon,

The subtle difference between some of these particles has always been very confusing to me, so this course was very helpful! I like that these lessons are short, clear, and provide enough sample sentences to help understand the meaning of each particle. 감사합니다 예지 선생님!🙌

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

Thank you so much for taking this course and leaving this sweet comment!💕

  17. Mother2Nations,

I had been wondering how I could find a clear and understandable way to remember particles. This was just what the doctor ordered. It achieved what I hoped. I thoroughly enjoyed the Party Particles course

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

We are glad you liked the course! 😃

  18. Stephanie,

I just finished this course to repeat the particles. Yejis explainations are really bit-sized, yet so perfectly understandable. Plus: Her voice is really lovely to listen to, very easy to follow and concentrate. Thank you so much for this course, I loved every lesson of it. 😊

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

Thank you for your lovely comment! 😍

  19. Barbara Bellorin,

I am enjoying the Particles Party lessons (I have completed lessons 1-4 ) and I know that this will be very helpful to me in my effort to learn Korean. I wish, however, that the review quiz answer section would have the same kind of explanations that the main course does to make it easier for me to understand why I got the questions wrong as well as to clarify why I got the answers right. Thanks a lot for a great program! I know it’s ambitious, but I hope to become a fluent Korean speaker someday!

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! 🙂

  20. Wendy,

I haven’t taken the course yet just looked at what’s in it. But can I ask why there is no lesson for 을/를. Because that and the once talked about in lesson 1 are the once I constantly have to repeat those to reminded me what the difference between them is (that’s why I came to take a look at this course to have a spot where there all together).

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

Hi, you can find the lesson about 을/를 on our Essential Course’s level 2-lesson 2.
Thank you for studying Korean with us!

  21. Cheryl Schaeffer,

Since this is a new course, I wanted to see what was in it. The course was well written with clear explanations and examples and Yeji 선생님 is an excellent teacher.

    • Hyunwoo Sun,

Thank you so much Cheryl!! We’re glad you liked the course!
