Customer reviews

"I've been learning Korean by myself for a few months so I only learn Korean grammar lesson by lesson but not having any learning partner to practice everyday conversation with. I started to know how to say simple things in Korean in real life conversations thanks to this audiobook. Thank you TTMIK team!"

Nguyen N.

"One of the best books that I have read about conversations. I fully recommend it."

  1. Ben Hinrichsen,

In lesson 4 Situation 3 she says ์ž„์‹ ํ•ด์„œ์š” – because she is pregnant. So why does he answer ์ž„์‹ ํ–ˆ์–ด์š” in the past tense?

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

In Situation 3 of Lesson 4, the phrase ์ž„์‹ ํ–ˆ์–ด์š” doesn’t appear. Could you please clarify which lesson it is exactly? : )

  2. Lulu Perez,

Hi, dialogue #4 in the Lesson 10. Hair Salon section says at the end “๊ธฐ๋ฅผ ๊ฑฐ๋ผ์„œ์š””, but I can’t find anywhere that that’s the correct conjugation for ๊ธฐ๋ฅด๋‹ค. Was that a typo or is it another word or compound word?

    Thanks!

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

      Hi Lulu,

It’s ๊ธฐ๋ฅด๋‹ค+ใ„น+๊ฑฐ๋ผ์„œ, and that is why!

    • Lulu Perez,

      Aaah, nevermind, I think I figured it out. Is it “๊ธฐ๋ฅผ ๊ฑฐ๋ผ์„œ์š”” as in ๊ธฐ๋ฅด(๋‹ค) + ใ„น + ๊ฒƒ + (์ด)๋ผ์„œ + ์š”?

  3. Carlos Sito,

On the first audio “At the cafe” you say “๋”ฐ๋œปํ•œ ๊ฑธ๋กœ ๋“œ๋ฆด๊นŒ์š”?” meaning “do you want it hot?”, which also used in “์–ด๋–ค ๊ฑธ๋กœ ๋“œ๋ฆด๊นŒ์š”?” meaning “what would you like”. I understand “๊ฑธ๋กœ” is the short form of “๊ฒƒ์œผ๋กœ”->๊ฒƒ+(์œผ)๋กœ.
But why do you change “๊ฒƒ ” to “๊ฑธ” or “ใ……” to “ใ„น”. Why not “๊ฒƒ์œผ๋กœ” or “๊ฑฐ๋กœ”? Thanks.

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

      Hi Carlos!

It’s because “๊ฑธ๋กœ” is the abbreviation form of “๊ฒƒ์œผ๋กœ” in spoken Korean.
