"i really enjoy using this after finishing the first and second levels. I wish you had those for all levels. It really reinforces the materials learned, provides opportunity for some pronunciation and speaking exercise, and is just like a fun test to take after studying. please provide them for the other levels as well. that and the workbooks, which are just perfect."

Sakina

"I really like the review kits. They are great to test your knowledge of you just finished a level, but also to easily repeat the materialen after a while. And since the audiofiles are only about 10 minutes you can easily play one and repeat some material during the day."

  1. John,

    안녕하세요.

I have two questions related to Step 1 & 2 in the review.

    1. Is there a nuance difference between 한국어 궁부 집에서 할 거 에요 and 집에서 한국어 궁부할 거 에요? Does one place more emphasis on the what and the other on the where?

2 When using the person counter, 명, the book only mentions using native Korean numbers (including up to 30). In the lesson here when talking about 30 friends 진구 삼십 명 but when saying how many students, 10 students was 학생 열 명 was used. Is there some flexibility here or is there a cutoff for amount where people will tend to switch from native Korean to Sino-Korean?

Also, when pronouncing 몇 월 it sounded like ㅊ turns into ㅌ or ㄸ. Was I hearing that right?

    • John,

Looks like the answer for two is below.

  2. Barbara Turchi,

Hi! I’m looking for Super intense review kit n.3 and n.4. Are there, now?

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

      Hi Barbara,

We currently do not have Review Kit courses for 3 and 4. Thank you for your patience!

  3. Alisa Chevik,

May I ask why do we use 들 in 선생님하고 친고들. (In step 2) 😁

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

Sure. -들 is used to make 친구 plural so 친구들 means friends.

  4. 사라 🫰,

Hi! Are there only review kits for the first two levels? I’m looking for the level 3 and onwards ones. Thank you!! 🙏

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

Hi, these are the only review kits available for now.
      Thank you for your understanding!

    • 사라 🫰,

Never mind, I’ve found my answer already. Sorry to disturb!!

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

  5. Alex Bartolini,

Is there anyway to download these so I can listen to them offline? Often times I want to study and I don’t have wifi or service.

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

We are sorry but the online courses cannot be downloaded.
      Thank you for your understanding!

  6. KA,

    Hi
This course is very very useful!! To remember and also check misunderstandings.
I just completed step2 and I have a question about counters:
    « 10 friends » is translated as 친구 열 명. Whereas
« 30 friends » is translated as 친구 삼십 명. Changing from Korean numbers to Sino-Korean numbers.
Why is it so? It there any rule for this? I didn’t find anything in the level2 corresponding lesson about counters (lesson9)
    Thanks for your feedback !!

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

      Hi,

although it’s possible to say 친구 서른 명, in Korean, they tend to use sino-Korean numbers when the numbers are big.
      We hope this helps 🙂

  11. Georgia Hanley,

This was so helpful! Of course I always review lessons with the TTMIK workbook and my own notes, but these audio lessons are super helpful because they give you a chance to practice speaking and also give you an idea of how quickly you can form Korean sentences. For me, I find writing sentences relatively easy, but I didn’t realise until now how slow I am at forming them in my head so I can say them out loud. Now I know it is something I need to practice more, and this review kit is a perfect tool for that! As always thank you TTMIK, you guys truly are the best!!

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

Thank you for your comment! 🙌🏻

  19. Kenza Boutaleb,

Please in Step 2, why the counting for people in this sentence : 어제 친구 30명 왔어요 was in Sino-Korean while in 여기 친구 10명 있어요 was in Native-Korean ? I thought we use Sino-Korean for counting only when the number is over 99

When you count objects/people directly, you usually count like ‘하나, 둘, 셋, 넷’.
However, if you use certain ‘unit words’ to count, it depends on what you are counting.

Here are some examples from the link:

  25. ,

Love this review a lot. It helps me to remember some things. But I am still confused with the word orders sometimes and everytime I tell it one way you will change some words order and I am like “Like this now?” Will try to practice more to get it and understand.

    • Talk To Me In Korean,

Good idea ! 🙂 Hope you continue to enjoy learning Korean with us. 화이팅 !
