  1. Beyza Sahin,

Hello, I just finished the first lesson of level 2. If anyone wants to study together add me on insta: @beysluv
Also, if you’re planning to go to SK or you’ve been there add me!!! ^-^

  2. Stephanie,

I just completed Level 2 today and it feels great!
I have been studying with other resources for about 1,5 years now, so going through Level 1 and 2 on TTMIK was actually not that hard considering grammar comprehension, reading and writing. I lack listening and speaking practice though, so I was really scared of the dialogue in the Level 2 revision. I thought I wouldn`t understand anything. Luckily, that wasn`t the case and after 2 times hearing it, I had a very good idea of the spoken content. I really like that every lesson has a dialogue part and the amount of new information in each lesson is perfect. Can`t wait to go through level 3! 🙂 Thank you so much for these courses and keep up the great work! TTMIK is an incredibly valuable source for self-study learners. <3

  3. Taylor Hiles,

    I just completed level 2!
I have learned so much through TTMIK! I originally started learning Korean through Duolingo, and although it is good for vocabulary, I found out quickly that grammar was not explained at all. After some research, I ended up here! I am glad I did, too 🙂
I feel as though I can read and write much better than I can speak. I am able to pick the words off of the pages pretty well and can use context clues if I do not know a word. However, I have a much more difficult time recalling what I know when I try to speak it. Does anyone else have this problem?!
I wish I had someone to speak it with so I could practice!

    • Anne,

Same! At some point, I can read and write Korean. I kinda start to understand a few words when reading Korean IG captions or pick up common phrases/words when watching kdrama or listening kpop but definitely need more practice specially with speaking.

    • Lilly,

Hey I actually have started only 1 level but I took the quiz twice and got level 3. Should I do the level 3 first or level 3

    • Yoonzino_95,

    • Huh Rini,

      Hey, I am there.

    • Yoonzino_95,

Hi. Where should I contact you ?

    • John,

I know I share that problem — my reading vocabulary is much better than my recall. My verbal understanding is also poor — I think that is due to little real practice/use and simple processing — I cannot translate nearly as fast as even a slow talker will speak (and where do you find a slow speaking Korean outside these lessons!). The other challenge I face is word recognition as the correct pronounciation of the words is often different from what I think. Add the grammar to the speech and if I missed a queue I’m lost for the rest of the statement.

If you’ve not heard of it – and in no way am I suggesting this as some alternative to TTMIK — italki.com has a lot of Korean learners and a lot of both professional teachers and community teacher and just native speakers that will help with verbal skill development. You can probably also look into meetups.com to see if there are any Korean based groups in your area. I know where I live there as some and some of the local Koreans will show up to help both with cultural exchange and language exchange.

    • isobadlywanttolearnkorean,

  6. Lucía Muñoz,

안녕! I’m starting Level 2 and I’m very excited about it. I just want to ask for some tips for listening skills. Currently, I’m studying a lot of vocab and grammar, but I want to focus my learning on understanding spoken korean (more than written, you know…like…being able to watch dramas or Run BTS without subtitles😆 ). Since I can’t travel to Korea, I understand that it’ll take years to understand everything, but at least I want to do my first steps in the right way. (My native language isn’t English, so I hope you can understand 😄 )

    • Lucía Muñoz,

We haven’t decided which app to use. Honestly I have no idea, I’ve never done this before 😆

    • Alex SS,

Should we make a Whatsapp group to practice Korean together? I also want to join~

    • zammie,

Me too pls add me I’m struggling I speak English thi

    • Cam,

Hi! I’m starting level 2 soon as well and I would love to know if you need a study buddy, if you do I would love to be your study buddy so please let me know ^^ (don’t worry my native language isn’t english either but I can say I can understand what you wrote)

    • Lucía Muñoz,

Maybe we can do a group, since all of us need help 😅

    • Shruthi,

      Did you all decide?

    • fatimadanyadado,

What app should we make a group? I can try too

    • Javae,

am i to late to join this group?

    • Elizabeth Uzoegwu,

      Oh, me!
      I want that too

    • fatimadanyadado,

    • Lucía Muñoz,

  7. Ursula Shekhar,

시간이 오래 걸렷ㅅ지만 2 닫계를 배우는 주말 즐거웠습니다 . As you say in Korean “Fighting “☺️ for learning level 3 Thanks to the 2 선생님 Your jokes are lame 😄But you content and teaching is very very good 👌

  8. Moajuny,

Hello! Teachers sometimes say that “maybe you already saw this word in your vocabulary”. Is there any word list that includes not only the words in the lesson but also some other expressions? I would love to know!

    • Simran Kaur Shiledar,

Ah no… actually I don’t think there’s a word list but the textbooks conatain a lot of words which aren’t stated in these pdf lessons… like along with sample sentences and conversations they keep introducing new words… and they say this for maybe cuz we have come across many words from level 1… so maybe that’s the reason… since I’m referring both … these lessons and the textbooks I haven’t come across or have heard of any word list…
Oh and also … what level are you on??… how is your journey?… I’d love to know… and would love to share mine too

  20. Tom Farmer,

So far so good. 35년전에 미국에서 한국어 처음 공부했어요. 그런데 오늘 한국은 다시 제 마음에 있어요. TTMIK 에게 도와 주셔서 삼사합니다.

  21. Olmiche,

삼겹살 고 이 맛있어요 그리고 한국 음식이에요

  22. Milan Drlík,

It’s been a long time since I finished this level. I think it’s missing crucial information that verbs turned into a noun or adjective(either 기 or 은/는/을) still take object(를, action verbs only) and subject(이/가). Not knowing this makes understanding long sentences, like 10 words but only 1 verb, quite difficult. Until I figured out this I was having a hard time understanding how are words related to each other.

  23. Jessica Gershman,

지금 저는 공부해야 되요. 재미 있어요!

    • Reitumetse,

When I first started level 2 I couldn’t understand this sentence at all. Now I know exactly what you said and I’m so excited

    • Emily,

The satisfaction when you can understand what someone else’s saying

    • 마이무나,

      So true XD

    • Nils Schröder,

      haha, thought the same 😆

  24. Jessica Gershman,

Hi. I just finished lesson 19 and have a question. Can present progressive be interchangeable with using 는 것 in 19? For example 지금 노래를 듣고 있어요 verses 지금 듣는 거는 노래여요? 감사합니다 😊

    • Minh Nguyen,

The first sentence says “Right now I am listening to music” whereas the second says “Right now the thing I am listening to is music.” The first sentence would probably be an answer to “What are you doing right now?” where the second sentence would be an answer to “What are you listening to right now?” Not sure if it makes too much of a difference but I don’t think those sentences are necessarily interchangable.

    • Jessica Gershman,

      감사합니다 😁

    • Fabrizio448,

hi jessica i think the second verse using 는 것 means the song im listening to now and as i’ve watched from kdramas Koreans just use the 아요 어요 해요 for the simple version of present progressive for example 지금 노래를 듣고 있어요 can be changed to 지금 노래를 듣기 해요 im also still learning please correct me if im wrong

    • Jessica Gershman,

  25. Hicamia Himuldang,

I just finished lesson 2 about object marking particles. Just wondering what if my sentence is watching TV while doing the dishes. Should I omit the object marker between TV and watch and also between dishes and do? where should the object marker be placed? Thank you
