should i be worried if i couldn’t understand the girl in lesson 4
Hi peeps, I’m a young adult looking for other adults to learn Korean with! My goal is to take a Korean proficiency test in ~6 months time, and I’m dedicating about 4-5 hours towards Korean a day. Add me on discord (Schenze#1166) if you’re interested, and leave a short intro if you don’t mind! 18+ only please!
Just finished the test. There were a fee words that I did not know. But other than that I understood the dialogue quite well.
좋아요! 🙂 앞으로도 화이팅! ^^
Where is the pnf please ?
I’ll be off to Korea for 12 months in about a year’s time so I’m trying to get my Korean up to scratch before then, haha. Is anyone else seeking to become an au pair/live-in English tutor?
hello omg im soo scared i just finished level 1
You don’t have to be scared! 🙂 You’re doing a very great job! Keep up the good work. 화이팅!
Today i set my google assiatant to korean language it was speaking really fast i am doing with my level 2 so i cant really understand her but it eas fun i can improve my pronunciation with it
If you did your best in level 1 then you can also do better in level 2 as level 2 is mostly based on whatever you leraned on level 1 . And dont forget to take notes of whatever you are learning.
Fighting !!!
Same here! Kwenchana. We’ll be better. Fighting!
왜?
몰라요 ㅋㅋㅋ
Ummm so I am doing level 2… I have made some sample sentences.. 1. 나는 나쁜 가수예요 그래서 노래 안 해요
2. 나는 방을 정수예요 그래서 나중에 만날 거예요.
3. 나는 선생이에요 그레서 가르치예요.
@TTMIK… can you check these please???
Thank you for learning Korean with us 🙂
Your example sentences are still good, but the following would sound more natural.
1. 저는 노래를 잘 못해요. 그래서 노래(를) 잘 안해요.
2. 저는 방을 청소하고 있어요/청소하는 중이에요. 그래서 (그 사람을/친구를) 나중에 만날 거에요.
3. 저는 선생님이에요/교사에요. 그래서 학생들을 가르치고 있어요.
For your information, rather than 나는, you should say 저는 when you have conversations with those who are older than you or need to be polite.
For no 1, its gramatically good. But perhaps people often use “노래를 못해요” to indicate both you can’t sing or you’re a bad singer. “노래 안 해요” make the circumstance that you don’t sing, rather than you can’t sing or terrible at it (either if you want to) cmiiw
*even not either
*청수
For number 2, if you are talking about cleaning the noun form is 청소. So to make that into a verb, you need to add 하다. It’ll become 청소하다. In present tense, its 청소해요. So the correct way to write number two is 나는 방을 청소해요. 그래서 나중에 만날 거예요.
‘
Great! 🙂 In addition to Mya’s answer, we would like to make it sound more natural by using a present progressive form. -> 저는 방을 청소하는 중이에요/청소하고 있어요. 그래서 (그 사람을/친구를) 나중에 만날 거에요.
Hello, I just stumbled on the word 한국인 which means Korean (person). Is it the same with hanguk saram? And how will i know which one to use? Thank you
From my understanding 한국인 is more formal (저는 한국인입니다). Also 인 is from Chinese. Anything that’s from Chinese tends to be more formal. 한국 사람 is used more for everyday conversation (저는 한국 사람이에요.)
Perfect answer! 🙂 Thanks!
Ohhh okay okay. Thank you so much!

Hello!
Are there special rules when to use -기 or -는 것 when making action verbs into its noun form?
For instance:
저는 먹지 좋아해요 and 저는 먹는 것 좋아해요 both mean in terms of “I like to eat.”
Is one method generally preferred to the other?
Thank you for your question. Between two sentences(저는 먹기 좋아해요 and 저는 먹는 것 좋아해요), the second one is more commonly used in daily lives. 저는 먹는 것을/먹는 거를/먹는 걸 좋아해요 can be used casually.
Korean people usually use the first one…
I never heard them to use the second one, maybe It’s just for writing and formaly speaking..
I just finishlevel 2 lesson 6and i want to know if I heard the quiz sentence right, it took me a while to undertand the last sentence 😅
Here is what I heard: 졸리었어 자고 싶어요, 그런대 내일이 시험이에요.
